Album of the Week: Human Tetris ‘Two Rooms’

Album of the Week: Human Tetris 'Two Rooms'

Our featured album this week is ‘Two Rooms‘, the brand new record from Russian post punk/new wave band Human Tetris.

Formed in October 2008, the band went on indefinite hiatus in 2012. The trio draw inspiration from a large variety of post-punk / new wave bands, along with modern post-punk revival and indie rock artists. The name is derived from a famous Japanese TV show.

They reformed in 2016 and since then, they have released the EP River, Pt. 1, in December of 2016, the single Pictures/Ruins in November 2017, and the album Memorabilia on April 11, 2018, in which they toured Europe and Latin America, starting in Europe two weeks’ after it’s release on 26 April.

The band comprises vocalist and guitarist Arvid Kriger, Tonia Minaeva and Ramil Mubinov.

The album is a perfect blend of New Wave and post-punk, with brilliant guitar, dark basslines, and melancholic vocals. Favourite tracks: Fade, Horizon, Day and Night, Reminder…
