London indie rock/alt artist Chilli Jesson (former Palma Violets bassist/vocalist) has unveiled the video for his latest single “Thick Skin“.
The song is part of our current playlist and came out last month (March 20), it is taken from his new EP due later this spring. Get it here.
Commenting on the track, Chilli said:
This tune was a massive turning point for us as it was the first song we made with out the using an electric guitar or bass. It personally pushed musical boundaries that I was never comfortable with before and which is why this tune has a special place for me. Lyrically it’s a personal one relating back to my school days where I was dealing with a premature bereavement. I took some time away from the classroom and when I returned I was greeted by judging eyes and sympathetic smiles. At this time I felt disjointed and distant from everyone and wanted to crawl back inside my self.
