Paris-based darkwave/synthpop/new wave/post punk project Crush Of Souls (aka Crocodiles‘ guitarist Charles Rowell) has dropped the video for his latest single “Touch From A Heartbeat”.
The track is taken from his second album ‘Lézire‘, released last month (March 21) via Avant! Records. Get your copy here if you haven’t already.
The album is a love letter to Paris; all of its beauty and decay. “Lézire” which is a slang mixture of the French words for Lizard and Desire provides a sinister title to an album full of hard hitting, romantic songs. An album cover full of chains and S&M can provide enough of an explanation as to the new direction of Crush of Souls.
‘Touch From A Heartbeat’ has one early EBM beat and glowing synths that somehow connect mid 80’s Depeche Mode and Death In June, while still delivering a personal vibe typical of the musical endeavour of Charles Rowell.
