
Norwegian post-punk/art rock/indie dance band Datarock have released their new single “Heart Shaped Circle” (feat Nelly Moar), alongside an accompanying video.
The track features on their forthcoming album ‘Media Consumption Pyramid‘, due to released on September 29 through YAP Records. Get it here.
Heart Shaped Circle pays homage to the sound of iconic 80s groups such as DEVO, Soft Cell, Bronski Beat, Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, Spandau Ballet, Pet Shot Boys, and The Smiths, among others.
Singer Fredrik Saroea explains: “The song is a strangely joyous celebration of how life is an endless, repetitive, circular line of hits and misses”.
Commenting on the video, created in collaboration with Aldea – Center of Contemporary Art, Design and Technology, who shared the following:
“We’re excited to announce our recent collaboration with Datarock, where we’ve utilized cutting-edge technology to produce a series of music videos, each distinctively crafted for four tracks from their new album. These videos have been brought to life using state-of-the-art text-to-image diffusion models, Stable Diffusion, Control Net as well as Deforum. In the world where AI meets creativity, these advanced models translate the core emotions and narratives of the music into compelling visual experiences.”
