Cork alt-rock band First Class & Coach have released their new single “SURE“, off their forthcoming sophomore album ‘Neon Hip‘.
‘SURE’ is immediately gripping, from the striking intro to FC&C’s trademark sonic textures and intensity altogether with an impeccable and recognisable vocal delivery. ‘SURE’ is a song about hope when hope is nowhere to be found, but is salvaged only by love, a love that is hidden, and certainly forbidden, never to be fully experienced. Formed in 2017 by Reuben Maher (guitars, keys, vox), Jonathan Parson (bass), Geraldine Thomas (vox) and Andrew McNeilage (drums), their early gigs fused hard-edged guitar sounds with ambient keys, digital samples, as well as dance rhythms. These formative shows led the band towards honing their sound: immediate, distorted guitar hooks, driving bass lines, muscular drums and uncompromising vocals, delivered in both English and German.
The band recorded their forthcoming second album ‘Neon Hip’ in Black Box Studios, France, with Tony Maimone again at the controls. It is due for release in April 2023 through FIFA Records.
