Boston-based lo-fi/indie/bedroom pop artist Layzi (aka Carissa Myre) has released her new single “close 2 u“, alongside an accompanying video.
The song comes out on Valentine’s Day (February 14) via Born Losers Records.
Speaking about it, she says: “I wrote ‘close 2 u’ a few months after going through a really tough breakup. The lyrics are about the sad acknowledgments you make to yourself post-breakup, accepting that the relationship is really over, and learning how to be content with your own loneliness while going through the healing process: ‘It tears me apart, but I put myself back together.’”

As Layzi, Carissa Myre is the epitome of bedroom-pop. From the moment she first picked up a guitar in 2017 she has singlehandedly put quite a catalog under her belt.
She continues to outgrow her music in the best way imaginable because she writes, records, and produces practically every song herself, literally in her room. As a result, no concept is ever left unexplored, creating a musical universe best described as a sonic dreamscape.
Her new EP drops later this year.
