New Friends Unveil New Single/Video "Waste My Time"

Canadian indie pop band New Friends have unveiled the video for their new single “Waste My Time“.

The song is out now via Slaight Records. Get it here.

Commenting on the track, they say:

Waste My Time” is about knowing very well that a dynamic has shifted from being healthy and fun to abusive and devastating. We took inspiration from the euphoric and sometimes mind numbing effects that love, whether toxic or healthy, has on someone’s day-to-day life.

Eat up every word you say, my perception dilates

This line truly depicts the exhaustion in the relationship. Whether true or false, you will still sit there and genuinely value the other person’s opinion more than your own because that is how deep love can go.

This song has really allowed us to take the backseat and look at our relationships in the third person, catching ourselves early on when we sense there is a risk of submission.  It exposes the invisible boundary in a relationship that should not be crossed.

New Friends are Stefan Boulineau from Windsor (lead singer), Cole Wilson from St. Thomas (guitarist), Ayden Miller from Orillia ()keyboardist/lead writer, and Conrad ffom Waterloo. Even though it’s been a few years now since they really were new friends, the discovery has not ended.

“The name New Friends was very simple at the beginning because none of us knew each other very well, but we kind of fell in love with learning about each other, with one thing holding us together, which was the band. Because of that one thing, we got locked down and we were forced to reveal our truths and our secrets.”
