Portsmouth, UK post punk/new wave/indie band NFU (Noise Factory United) have revealed their new single “MinotaurE“.
The song is a feminist hymn to confidence and collective agency. The MinotaurE is the toxic, Egomaniacal, Enduring, Elephant in the room but the song frees the voices from the labyrinth: no fatality, no destiny, no more gaslighting, and no to abuse and control!
NFU (Noise Factory United) = genre warping warriors on a mission to fuse rock, post-punk and electronica in creation of a singular indie sound before the apocalypse kicks in.
They don’t do songs about unrequited love or wallow in the self-obsession of minor narcissisms. Instead, this five piece offer up socially-driven, self-deprecating observations about the grey and enigmatic zones of the everyday in their port cities of Portsmouth and Southampton. What you get is something vaguely familiar with a whiff of maritime alterity.
NFU are Zena Ide (synth/vocals), Stu Powell (guitar/vocals), Steve Phipps (bass/vocals), Miko Gorski (drums), and Scott Soo (vocals/guitar).

All proceeds from MinotaurE will go to a Portsmouth Charity (PARCS*) that offers counselling for women who have suffered violence and domestic abuse.
