Noble Rot, the new project of Toronto music vets Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck) and Alex Edkins (Metz), have announced the release of their debut album ‘Heavenly Bodies, Repetition, Control‘.
The 8-track album will be out on March 24 via Joyful Noise Recordings. Pre-order your copy here.
The record shows Edkins and Walsh joyously stepping beyond the lines drawn by their previous work. It takes inspiration from film soundtracks, experimental noise, kosmiche muzik, ambient, psychedelia and more.
While their distinct musical sensibilities remain intact, Edkins’ knack for red-lined melody and Walsh’s inclination for dancefloor romps have not dulled, Noble Rot provides the duo with a new vehicle for pushing their boundaries of sonic exploration and rewards the listener with an enthralling LP filled to the brim with unbridled musical curiosity and boundless excitement that is sure to surprise and thrill longtime fans and periphery lurkers alike.
The duo have also shared the video for the album’s lead single “Casting No Light,” featuring Colin Newman of Wire on guitar.
