Omni Unveil New Single/Video "INTL Waters"

Atlanta-based indie rock/post punk band Omni have unveiled their new single “INTL Waters” alongside an accompanying video.

The track is the third taste of their upcoming album ‘Souvenir‘, due to be released on February 16 via Sub Pop Records. Pre-order your copy here.

The music of Omni has always swung fast and hit hard. And Souvenir, their fourth album and second for Sub Pop, packs their biggest punch yet. Singer/bassist Philip Frobos’ singing is a bit more emotional and even nostalgic this time. In crafting his vocals, he was inspired by the early college radio rock of formative favorites like REM, the Cure, and Big Audio Dynamite–the kind of bands whose melodies could have been top 40 hits in an alternative universe. The lyrics on Souvenir are also by turns funny, absurd, and even cryptic. A wry humor has always coursed through Omni’s songs, and this time, it comes in shades of both dark and light.

The band shares about the song: “‘INTL Waters’ came together quickly with minimal intentions but soon grew lush with melodies and decadent piano flourishes. Thinking about the sadness of villains as they float around between imaginary borders seemed interesting and amusing to minimise. We hope you enjoy this left turn as much as we do.”
