Sands Shares New Single/Video "Transmission"

London-based indie/new wave/psych musician Sands has shared his new single “Transmission” and its accompanying video.

The uplifting shoegaze track is the first single off of his forthcoming new album ‘The World’s So Cruel’, set to arrive on 13th October. Get it here.

With an array of glistening synths, catchy guitar riffs and a bouncing drum beat, SANDS says the energetic track is inspired by the overwhelming vibe of the busy North East London neighborhood he once resided in. His honest lyricism reveals the hecticness he underwent: “You’ve gone way down too far but if you scream I’ll find you there.”

The video, conceived as an art gallery installation, uses a CCTV view of a mundane East London
market for a voyeuristic feel. The static point of view is enhanced by the use of analog effects
randomization and lyrics, allowing the viewer to lose themselves in the song.

Sands “Transmission” Lyrics:

Dancing to the sirens it’s so good to be back home
Meanwhile the transmission’s going on and on
Twisted stories happen to be told as it gets dark
That is all at the end of the day
I came down just to check, are you ok?

You’ve gone way down too far but if you scream I’ll find you there
So lost and a little bit lonely do you understand?
You’ve gone way down too far but if you’ll scream I’ll find you there
Find you there

Temporary wisdom’s still there lying on the shore
The bits that feed your knowledge sneaking through the door
But on the other side of the universe there’s someone you might trust
Life goes on at the end of the day
Do you even remember my name?

You’ve gone way down too far but if you scream I’ll find you there
So lost and a little bit lonely do you understand?
You’ve gone way down too far but if you’ll scream I’ll find you there
Find you there

A satellite across the border will guide you
I can’t deny I’ve been stuck here for days
Seal the deal
I’ve got to run away

It’s just a difficult morning you can easily understand
If you walk out past the corner you might find yourself
You’ve gone way down too far but if you scream I’ll find you there
I’ll find you there
Or someone else
