Milton Keynes, UK post punk/electronic/alt band Sir-Vere have unleashed the video for their latest single “Legion“.
The song features on the upcoming re-issue of their album ‘Lovescope‘, due out on January 26th 2024 via Worldsound/Virgin Music Group.
Arriving at the very beginning of what promises to be a year of seismic power shifts across the globe, ‘Legion’ is one of the ‘Lovescope’ album’s most rabble rousing pieces of oratory, a double edged reminder to the many that they hold the real power, not government or military or police, as well as a warning to those in power of who they serve and ultimately answer to.
Musically, it surfs a monster of rhythmic momentum of beats, tight guitar riffing and electro sonics, the perfect lean, streamlined vehicle for the verbal sparring between the band’s two very different but always complimentary voices.
In trademark Sir-Vere style, it comes backed with a neatly varied clutch of different mixes headed up by an alternate version by Dan Konopka, drummer producer from Grammy award-winning OK GO fame, which frazzles the original’s edges with edgy, subtly employed distortion. The S-VAS version is more like a dub, with its chugging power emphasised and the echo boxes set to stun, while Rise Bailey Rise, Vodzilla, Rory Hoy and the mighty Kid Breaks all share their unique takes on the track too.
Legion is out tomorrow, Jan 12. Watch the clip below.
