Inspired by the resurgence of the Post Punk, New Wave and 80’s music movement, The Gathering reformed in late 2017. In the spring of 2018, the band enlisted producer and composer Jason Corbett, of ACTORS, to ReTransmit the original Let It Shine EP, released in June of 2018. In April of the following year, The Gathering signed a deal with Germany based label Cold Transmission and they released the Jason Corbett produced Love Songs EP June, 2019 and the Night Light EP October, 2020. The EP’s have garnered plenty of airplay and made numerous playlists especially in Germany and other parts of Europe where the Post Punk revival movement is thriving.
January 2022 saw the release of Parade, a collection of the bands two Ep’s and two new Jason Corbett produced tracks. Since reforming the band has opened for: The Alarm, China Crisis, Chameleons Vox, Spear Of Destiny, Gene Loves Jezebel, Theatre of Hate and Canadian legends Platinum Blonde and The Grapes Of Wrath.
The Gathering “Constellations” Lyrics:
On a cold sea it was storming
Could it ever stop voracity that was forming?
Could see the fires
They were keeping
Wanted to be sure that it was peace that was sleeping
Constellations turn
Spacesuit drowning in the sun
Meteors that burn….
Love breaks the fall
Love breaks the fall
Trees and the seas
In their whispers
Profits taking precedence over skies that are
Blistered
Walked from the seas to the deserts
Always so lost within these vast sacred
Treasures
