Italian post-punk revival band The Whistling Heads have unveiled their new single “Shut Me Up” alongside a music video.
A celebration of sadness as a mean to grow up and learn. Built on a nervous synth riff, with groovy and solid basslines and drumming, Shut Me Up sounds like new wave angst in black and white for the new millennium.
The song is out now, grab it here and watch/listen below.
About:
Four heads in non-stop refraction. The Whistling heads mold guitars, bass and drums in a chaotic cloud of noise. It doesn’t matter who they are and where they come from. No matter if they are born in Messina or will die in Birmingham. They write songs that become stickers on your tongue. A roller coaster ride against the flow. And then a rainbow cut by an airplane.
The band released their debut album “Dull Boy” on September 1st 2023.
The Whistling Heads “Shut Me Up” Lyrics:
Shut my mouth here
If you really care now
Put your love here
If you really care now
I’ll be down I’ll be down down
Shut my heart here
If you really care now
I’ll be down I’ll be down down
I’ll be down I’ll be down
Show me the secret
I’ll be grateful all the time
I need someone to tell me
How I should feel all the time
All the time all the time all the time all the time
Show me the secret I’ll be grateful all the time
All the time all the time all the time all the time
I’ll be down I’ll be down I’ll be down
I’ll be down I’ll be down
Sorry, can you take me home?
I was heading to my room
But I’m down on the floor
Sorry, can you show me the way?
I was heading to my room
But I was down all day
I’ll be down I’ll be down
I’ll be down
But I was down all day
I didn’t ask you to stay
But I was down all day
I didn’t ask you to
I didn’t ask you to stay
I’ll be down
