Zurich-based cold wave/synth punk band Veil of Light have unleashed the video for their brand new single “Head-On Collision“.
The song is taken from their upcoming sixth studio album ‘Sundancing‘, which will be out on February 24 via Avant! Records. Pre-order your copy here.
UPDATE 16/01/2023: “Head-On Collision” is our new Single of the Week!
Head-On Collision sports some slap bass curving over a jingling synth riff and it falls somewhere between Pet Shop Boys and Bronski Beat, filtered through the detached lens of French coldwave à la Asylum Party.
Watch/listen below.
The Swiss duo has been coming a long way since the early days of their shoegaze-drenched hazy post-punk, moving towards Ebm sonic assaults with albums like Inflict and eventually swinging in favor of catchy electro-pop with their previous Landslide full-length.
Veil of Light “Head-On Collision” Lyrics:
A head-on collision
I Need a new vision
Will I learn my lesson
A school of thoughts
Be able to connect the dots
To live and thrive
Will I survive
But what will be left of them
Eye to eye
Face to face
A head-on collision
To make the incision
Can’t hide no more
Bare to the bone
Get blood from a stone
To live and thrive
Will I survive
But what will be left of them
Eye to eye
Face to face
