Our featured album this week is “Love Spell” the brand new record by Richmond, VA post punk/alternative/dream pop band True Body.
True Body formed in Richmond back in 2015. The band was born of a diverse collective of souls self-described as: “denizens of the hardcore and punk spheres, powerful trans thinkers and magicians, soldiers of techno and other various dance musik disciplines.”
Described as “a dream journal”, the band’s third studio album, the follow-up to their 2020 sophomore album Heavenly Rhythms for the Uninitiated, was recorded and mastered by Sasha Stroud at Artifact NYC, and mixed by Ben Greenberg at Circular Ruin Studios. True to the band’s signature, the album features 10 well-crafted tracks combining elements of post-punk and alternative pop/rock with intense moments, rhythms, catchy guitar riffs, and captivating vocal performances. An album worth listening to from start to end.
