Band of the Month – The Crooks [September]

Our featured band this month is Chesterfield indie/britpop/Rock & Roll rising band The Crooks.

Made up of Jacko, Chris Stones, Duncan Couch, Conor Fletcher and Jonathan Keeler, THE CROOKS deliver a villainously huge melodic, anthemic wall of sound that will soon become embedded in your heart and etched in your mind forever.

The group formed in 2019, drawing influence from DMA’s, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Verve, Oasis and co. topped off with a nicely adopted punk tinge. Since then, they have released a plethora of sounds and tunes, and grew an ever increasing army of loyal fans.

2019 saw the band release of their debut EP ‘Now Then’ and a plethora of singles, including the edgy rock anthem “Silhouette Sunshine”. After breaking through with “She Walks Alone” and “In Time” in 2020, the band built on that momentum with three of 2021’s top indie tracks, in the shape of “I Wonder”, “Frankie” and “Better Days”.

After a two-year hiatus, The Crooks returned this 2024 with a string of live dates and three excellent new singles, “In the Meantime“, “Wide Awake“, and “What You Know“, marking a new era for the Chesterfield group. With further releases and live dates on the horizon, the band is poised for a successful 2025.
