Austin, TX dream pop / shoegaze / alt band Blushing have premiered their new single “Slyce” alongside a music video.
The track serves as the final single from their highly-anticipated third album ‘Sugarcoat‘, out on May 3rd via Kanine Records and was Pre-order your copy here.

Slyce sees the band dipping into the psychedelic realm. The track’s hypnotic drive broadcasts Blushing at their most sonically experimental, so it is only fitting that it was recorded in an experimental way.
The songs’ bridge features an extra special touch from Christina’s dad, Carlos Fernandez, a classical pianist. This was a very meaningful collaboration as Christina was raised in a music filled household with the sound of her dad’s piano playing emanating through the house at all hours of the day.
The video is a lively, technicolor affair, visually inspired by something you would find in a 70’s horror film. Watch / listen below.
Having enlisted Elliot Frazier (Ringo Deathstarr) and Mark Gardener (Ride) for engineering, mixing, and mastering duties, Sugarcoat is a dense, reverb-laden exploration of alt-rock’s 40 year history that conjures up concord from chaos. They have previously shared “Seafoam” and “Tamagochi“.
