Leeds-based dream pop/shoegaze musician Amber Strawbridge aka Bored at My Grandmas House has unveiled her new single “Inhibitions“.
The track is out now via Clue Records / EMI, and marks her first new music in almost 2 years. Grab it here.
Speaking about it, Amber says:
“Inhibitions is a track that’s a homage to all the over-thinkers in the world. I wrote it from a place of reflection and frustration. It’s about feeling anxious day to day and watching my own inhibitions get in the way of everyday life and the things I want to achieve. It’s a feeling that was new to me and something that I felt I had no control over, written to reflect a time when I didn’t feel like my authentic self.”

Bored at My Grandmas House “Inhibitions” Lyrics:
How can I stop myself
From spiralling back down
To the place where I was when you last saw me
I’ve recently felt trapped
Confused to who I am
Stopping me from achieving and believing
Ah
Inhibitions
(the secret killer)
Inhibitions
Ah ah ahh
Inhibitions
(the secret killer)
Inhibitions
Moving on so you don’t sink It’s gotten to that point
I don’t know
Are you sinking or swimming? I think therefore I am
But I can’t even think
Therefore do I even exist?
Inhibitions
(the secret killer)
Inhibitions
Ah ah ahh
Inhibitions
(the secret killer)
Inhibitions
