Canadian dream punk/indie/post punk/dream pop band Breeze, led by producer/multi-instrumentalist/engineer Josh Korody from Beliefs and Nailbiter, have aired their new single “Never Gave You“, and its accompanying video.
Out now via Hand Drawn Dracula, the track marks the band first new music since the release of their 2021 album Only Up. Buy it here.
Originally a solo project led by Korody (known for his production work with Dilly Dally, Weaves, Tess Parks, Fucked Up, Tallies, Fake Palms, and more), Breeze has si evolved into a full band following their debut performance for a KEXP Live At Home Session.
According to the press release, Never Gave You delves into the complexities of human relationships and builds upon the 90s-inspired sound of their album Only Up.
Additionally, the new-wave-meets-Britpop-inspired song, recorded solo by Korody at his Candle Recording studio in early 2022 and mastered by Mark Gardiner of RIDE, promises an exciting direction for an anticipated full-length and full band follow-up.
Korody plays all the instruments on the track, which also features backup vocals from Jessica Upton, Robyn Phillips, and Julia Wittmann.
