Austrian indie pop/alt pop/indie rock band Catastrophe & Cure have unveiled their new single “Worn Out and Faded” feauring Luca Celine Mueller.

Catastrophe & Cure have been at the top of their game for over a decade now. Since the release of their debut album, Like Crazy Doves, in 2012, the band has been a fixture in the Austrian independent music scene. In 2015, they broke new ground with their second album, Undeniable/lrresistible, opening their indie rock aesthetic to electronic influences. Two years later, after numerous tours through Austria and Germany, the band released the mini-LP, Blank Spots and the single, On the Internet. With their 2020 album, Somewhere Down the Line, the quintet has rekindled its old love for guitar-driven songwriting, seemingly heading back to their roots, but nonetheless arriving at something completely different.
On their upcoming album, the quintet works its way through various sounds rooted in 90s alternative rock while always sounding modern and never derivative.
On “Worn Out and Faded“, distorted guitars and catchy synthesizer melodies merge into a driving dream pop song that culminates in a gentle duet with Luca Celine Mueller from the band GARDENS. Thematically, the song deals with closeness, elusiveness, and the fear of loss.
