Crying Vessel Announce Double Album, Share "Falling In Love With A Ghost"

USA//Switzerland post punk / gothic duo Crying Vessel have announced the release of their forthcoming double album and have shared their new single “Falling In Love With A Ghost“.

Crying Vessel returns after two years of studio hibernation, not with just one album, but two. These 20 tracks, divided across “Sepulchers: The Servant” and “Sepulchers: The Maiden,” reveal the duality of the band’s musical essence.

Each album feature 10 unique tracks that come together to form a cohesive and immersive musical experience. One side “The Servant” showcases the synth driven elegant style of Crying Vessel, while “The Maiden” takes us to the deeper, heavier and darker styles they’ve gained following for in recent years. The perfect taste of both styles of the band’s work all in two releases at the same time.

The debut single from “Sepulchers: The Servant,” the side with the melodic synth driven dancier style, is titled “Falling In Love With A Ghost,” and is out now via Cold Transmission. Grab it here.

This hauntingly beautiful track delves into themes of love, loss, and the supernatural, leaving listeners to interpret its meaning in their own way. Playing off the usual Crying Vessel allegorical style of lyrics, the theme is deeper than first acknowledged. Is he in love with someone who isn’t there? Maybe someone who has moved on?… Or even passed on?

The accompanying video presents a poetic narrative of two souls striving to reunite—one alive, the other seemingly a spectral presence. Were they lovers torn apart by tragedy, or are these merely the echoes of past memories she dances with?

About:

Since their inception in 2011, Crying Vessel has been at the forefront of the goth and post-punk scene revival. With a sound as haunting and cryptic as the name suggests, the band consists of the Slade Templeton, who brings his evocative vocals, guitar, and synth skills to the fore, and the dynamically intense Basil Oberli, whose drums are the heartbeat of the group’s dark, rhythmic allure.
