Toronto jangle pop/indie band Ducks Ltd. have unleashed their soaring new single “When You’re Outside”.
The song is out today, May 9 through Carpark / Royal Mountain Records. Get it here.
“When You’re Outside,” is three minutes of jangle-pop bliss that deals with conflicting feelings of trying to love someone who is making it difficult to do so. Recorded early in the Harm’s Way sessions – at a time when country music was heavily influencing their arrangements – their lofty goals for the harmonies were realized by members of Ratboys and Moontype. Despite exclusion from the album, it seems apt for a track of this caliber to see its own release.

Ducks Ltd “When You’re Outside” Lyrics:
All worn down
Here entombed
In your greyed out
Living room
I realize as I am placating you
I’m shrinking in your estimation too
But when you’re outside
Or way out of line
I’ll be there too
Absolutely blue
Signal out
To the great beyond
Is there anything
Out there that you want?
Victim of your own ambition, now
You act like you invented being let down
But when you’re outside
Or way out of line
I’ll be there too
Absolutely blue
