Philadelphia indie rock/art rock/post punk group Fib have unveiled their new single “PS” alongside a music video.
The track is the second single from their upcoming debut album ‘Heavy Lifting’, due to be released on April 25 via Philadelphia-based tastemaker label Julia’s War Recordings. Pre-order your copy here.
On “PS,” Fib slow things down for about ninety seconds to expose brightly toned guitars, a fractured relationship and pleas for improvement before building into layers of post-punk chord progressions with vocalist Gage Nelson musing, “Need some help getting well / but I can‘t see it getting better on its’ own.” “PS” arrives with a trippy, lo-fi official music video, filmed and edited by Cooper Beaupre and complete with animations from Sebastian Nicholson and Fib’s Logan Adam and Gage Nelson.
“P.S.” is us channeling our shared love for pop and rock and roll – riffs, melodies, hooks and all that,” Fib explain. “It is yet another breakaway from our usual dark and esoteric approach to songwriting. We wanted something simple and fun, and this just came out of us in about 30 minutes in our old basement.”
