Fernandina Beach, Florida indie / alternative band flipturn have released their new single “Juno” and its accompanying video.
The song features on their forthcoming second studio album ‘Burnout Days‘, due to be released on January 24, 2025 via Dualtone Records. Pre-order your copy here.
Burnout Days is inspired by the band’s journey on the road, as they sort through challenges like self-esteem, codependency, addiction and the twists and turns of day-to-day life in one’s mid-twenties. The band have also announced their 2025 coast-to-coast US headline tour, which will find the group pushing into their largest venues yet. See the list of full dates below.
Commenting on the track, the band’s Mitch Fountain (guitar, synthesizer), says:
“Lyrically, we wanted to tell a story about what life can feel like traveling the country as a band in a transit van. Our van Pegasus, ‘Peggy’ for short, became the closest thing to home we had when touring. A lot of our family and friends for years would assume that the rockstar lifestyle was how they saw it in movies or pop culture but in reality it is a much different experience. ‘Juno’ is meant to highlight the toxic positivity that I think we’ve all experienced when we feel like we need to tell our friends and family ‘we’re living the dream’ when we are still very much chasing the drea.”
