Fernandina Beach, Florida indie rock band flipturn have revealed the video for their cover version of Tears for Fears classic “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”.
The cover came out in June 15 and is part of the upcoming Dualtone Records album Discovered & Covered. Buy it here.

Discovered & Covered will feature performances from The Lumineers, Shakey Craves, Houndmouth, Shovels & Rope, Langhorne Slim, The Long Bellow, Wolder Woods, Abraham Alexander, The Dip, Flipturn, Zachary Williams, The Trigger Code and The Wold Reeds.
“Everybody Wants to Rule the World”, written by Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley and Chris Hughes, was a “last-minute” addition during recording sessions of Songs from the Big Chair (1985).
A worldwide success that topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and spent six weeks in the UK’s top five, its lyrics were about the thirst for power and its consequences, with intimations of what was seen by many at the time as the imminent threat of global nuclear war. In an early iteration, the chorus ended with: “Everybody wants to go to war”, but the band were uncomfortable with this, preferring the less didactic version that made the final cut.
