New York City neo-psychedelia five-piece GIFT have premiered their new single “Share The Present” alongside an accompanying music video.
The song is taken from their much-anticipated debut album ‘Momentary Presence‘, set to arrive on entirety on October 14th through Dedstrange. Pre-order your copy here.
Speaking about it, bandleader TJ Freda says: “I wrote this song about coming out of a depression/anxiety pattern.”
“Share the Present” stays grounded with solid motorik riffs and airy 80s-infused synths making a comfortable bed for GIFT to snuggle up with Freda’s gentle affirmations whispering sweetly in your ear(buds) like the friend who knows you better than anyone.”
“Being present is the most important thing you can do when you are feeling down,” says Freda. “Don’t dwell on the past of who you were. Look to the present moment and appreciate who you are and where you’re going.”

GIFT “Share The Present” Lyrics
Hey, say
Thought it would be different yesterday
Wait
On and on there’s nothing left to say
Hey
Finally found the reason I can’t wake
Wake
All I know is something’s gotta change
Sun’s coming up
I’m going out
Sun’s coming up
Hey, wait
Thought my world was ending yesterday
Say
Lost my head and found it on my face
Hey
All this time somebody had to say
Wait
Don’t look back you’ll never feel the same
Sun’s coming up
I’m going out
Sun’s coming up
I’m going out
Don’t look back, you’ll fall down
