East London indie/rock n roll/alt band Human Interest have premiered their new single “Step On” and its accompanying video.
The song, “a broody and romantic tune fit for dive bars and ballrooms,” is out now through Nice Swan Records and is the first taste of their upcoming EP, due to be released this autumn. Grab it here.
Speaking about it, the band stated:
“It’s about appreciating the duality of yourself and your friends as it’s what makes us human. The phrase ‘this philosophy goes away’ refers to trusting the passage of time; that thoughts and feelings are momentary, and there’s a beauty in trusting your gut and allowing your inner-self to guide the way.”

Human Interest is: Cat Harrison (lead vocals/guitar), Tyler Damara Kelly (lead vocals/bass), Tyler Darrington (backing vocals/guitar/synth), and Joe Michelson (drums/additional percussion).
The band formed in-between dreams and lockdowns, bringing to life songs penned by Harrison. Between her and Tyler Damara Kelly, there’s an infectious joy beating at the heart of moody rock ’n’ roll songs. After touring with Self Esteem, and playing as main support to Hinds and Tribes at the end of 2021, they released their acclaimed debut EP ‘Desire Paths’ in March 2022.
Since expanding to a four-piece, they have been busy forging a reputation as one of the thrilling live acts in the UK and beyond, playing alongside Vlure, Panic Shack, L’objectif and HighSchool, as well as tastemaker festivals such as Dark Arts and The Great Escape, and their first ever EU tour in France.
