IDER Reveal "You Don't Know How To Drive"

London indie pop/alternative duo IDER have revealed their new single “You Don’t Know How To Drive“, and its accompanying visuals.

Made up of friends Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville, Ider formed in 2016. Their music style combines features of various musical genres, and it has been described as “cross-genre”.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, they say: “You Don’t Know How to Drive is about the many stereotypical situations and character traits surrounding a millennial softboy. Inspired by stories shared with friends and the beam_me_up_softboi Instagram account, we wanted to write a funny, tongue-in-cheek song, directed at no one in particular unless you’re a legend in your own bedroom and love to talk about your solo EP.”

The song is out today, August 2. Grab it here and watch the video below.

IDER “You Don’t Know How To Drive” Lyrics:

You don’t know how to drive
You’re always missing the signs
But you have no problem telling me how to live from the passenger side
You say you figured it out
When you were high in Berlin
I reckon you go to therapy just to learn to win the fights you’re in

Oh to be honest I didn’t hear a word you said
I’m too busy thinking of fantasies in my head

[1]
I wanna fuck you up in the middle of a bar
Wanna lose my cool tell everyone who you are
Drag your name and take it too far, yeah slag you off all over town
I wanna throw your shit in the middle of the street
Really make a big scene and burn your red SG
Delete the files of your solo EP, yeah no ones gonna hear it now

You text like a poet
But you don’t make any sense
Love bombing, disappear, and block me as your self-defense
It’s time to settle down
Make your parents proud
You say you’re ready to cut your key
But you wanna keep it open for now

Oh to be honest I didn’t hear a word you said
I’m too busy thinking of fantasies in my head

Repeat [1]

Oh to be honest
You make me wanna

Repeat [1]
