London-based power pop/alt duo Jade Hairpins, made up of Jonah Falco and Mike Haliechuk from Fucked Up, have unleashed their new single “Better Here Than in Love“, alongside a video.

Better Here Than in Love is a pivotal moment in the hero’s journey that underscores the album, the pressures of creating art and being seen and feeling worthy finding a moment of release in one of the most gorgeous soundscapes Falco and Mike Haliechuk have yet committed to record.
Speaking about it, Jonah says:
“Better Here Than in Love” is about nearness and happiness. About observing from quiet, obscure safety, never knowing the intensity, fulfillment, hurt, loss, and satisfaction of feeling everything in earnest. About thawing fear. It’s written as a song of resignation, almost a happy lament—but with a small, crumpled piece of paper on which a secret message of hope and encouragement is scrawled, surreptitiously placed inside your pocket to be found at the right moment.”

The band’s touring activities will resume this November, with a UK/EU tour in support of Chubby and the Gang. Additionally, they will perform a special acoustic duo show at London’s Rough Trade West in October.
