Baltimore cold synth / darkwave / post punk musician L’Avenir has shared his new song “Eden“, and its accompanying video.
The track is taken from the 2024 compilation album ‘Another Cold World 5’, out now via Cold Beats Records, a Barcelona-based label specialized in electronic, coldwave, darkwave, minimal synth, minimal wave and post-punk releases. Grab it here.
L’Avenir is the cold synth project of veteran electronic musician and sound artist Jason Sloan. Known throughout the space and ambient music scenes for his contemplative electronic soundscape work for over two decades; Sloan founded L’Avenir in 2011 to explore his long time love of dark synth and minimal wave music created purely from analog and vintage equipment.
The musician’s forthcoming seventh album ‘Imagination,’ will be released late spring on EINS:ZWEI:ACHT.

L’Avenir “Eden” Lyrics:
Darkness in the distance
Shadows paint the walls
Hear Eden’s serpent whisper
From beneath its pall
The days are getting shorter
Can you hear the trumpet call
Drift through life like clockwork
Then off the edge we fall
So where is our Eden?
Promised to us all
There is no milk or honey
And to our knees we’ll fall
Now on our knees we crawl
