Chicago-based shoegaze / dream pop band Lightfoils have unleashed their new single “Entropic“, and its accompanying video.
The song, recorded and mixed by Sanford Parker and mastered by shoegaze legend Mark Gardener (RIDE) at OX4 Sound, is out now. Grab it here.
“Entropic” marks the band’s first release of 2024, and the debut of their new line up. Hailing from Chicago, IL Lightfoils are grizzled shoegaze veterans, they push the genre into new territory. Guitarist Neil Yodnane, drummer John Runnger, (Airiel, Unicycle Loves You), and bassist Cory Osborne (Panda Riot, Airiel) formed the band in the early 2010s.
Surviving a plethora of changing lineups, global pandemics, and other misadventures, Lightfoils has added guitarist Balthazar De Ley (Menthol, Hum) while Osborne has taken over vocal duties. The song was recorded and mixed by Sanford Parker ay Decade Studios in Chicago. Paul Wilson (Haegars Bend) provided backup vocals.
