L’objectif Premiere New Single "Entitled"

Leeds indie rock band L’objectif have premiered their new single “Entitled” and its accompanying visuals.

The song, written and produced by frontman Saul Kane, is out now through Chess Club Records and follows their previous single “ITSA“, released last month. Get it here.

Formed in 2017 by vocalist and guitarist Saul Kane and drummer Louis Bullock, the band performed as a duo up until 2020, when they recruited guitarist Dan Richardson and bassist Ezra Glennon. With each member picking up instruments as children, the young friends have a shared love of genres and musicians jazz funk, hip-hop, punk, post-punk, and almost everything in between. Also inspired by painters Basquiat and Francis Bacon, L’objectif seek excitement in the intellectually stimulating and subjective; finding thrill in the confusion.

Take a listen below.

L’objectif “Entitled” Lyrics:

Maybe I hurt you baby when I put you in front of the sun
don’t need a tragedy, don’t need a twist of fate
to make an impactful denouement
maybe we’re scorned hey baby got a little too close to the sun
no ounce of sympathy, will ever pull you out
of this broke direction
because you do what you can you can’t make god outta man and all those thought out plans and every hand upon hand and yeah you do what you can but you’re just
a man

So grounded honey
how you made me feel just like dirt tryna escape it well
she wanna hurt herself
well I tried for what it’s worth

Maybe I’m broken baby doesn’t mean I was wrong at first
said he’s abused enough
then started using oh
now he’s a nasty piece of work
because you do what you can you can’t make god outta man and all those thought out plans and every hand upon hand
and yeah you do what you can but you’re just
a man

You’re just a boy
you know god wouldn’t fuck around
yeah it made you so bitter
this mental armour
might as well be litter
yeah the way it’ll harm you
might just make you spit it spit it spit it spit it out
because you do what you can you can’t make god outta man and all those thought out plans and every hand upon hand
and yeah you do what you can but you’re just
a man
you’re just a boy
you know god wouldn’t fuck around
