San Diego indie /alternative trio Los Saints have dropped the video for their latest single “Faded“.
The song came out earlier this month and features on their highly anticipated debut LP ‘Certified’, due out this summer via ENCI Records. Get it here.
Los Saints initially gained traction with the ‘Welcome To Confusion’ EP in 2022. The Honey Pop christened them “your next indie obsession,” while San Diego Union Tribune pondered, “Could Los Saints be Chula Vista’s version of Cage the Elephant?” Building on this momentum, the three-piece hit the studio with producer Keith Cooper (Dear Boy) and brought ‘Certified’ to life during sessions at Wildflower Recordings in L.A.
The first single and opener “Faded” hinges on a bold bass line and a punchy drum groove. Guitars glow beneath a hazy and hypnotic vocal plea, “I don’t want you to look at me when you’re faded?”
Speaking about it, guitarist / vocalist Angel Mariscal shares:
“‘Faded’ delves into the consequences of frequent intoxication, shedding light on the illusion of fun and the reality of its detrimental impact. It’s a reflection on unhealthy behaviors seen through the lens of hindsight.”
Echoing Mariscal’s sentiments, the band’s creative process for “Faded” reflects a return to their roots, with the guitarist noting, “I think this is the most bedroom song in the entire album because I literally made the entire thing in my room. I just wanted the song to sound fun and short—a callback to how I started making music.”
