Los Angeles-based dream pop / shoegaze / post punk band Magic Wands have shared their new single “Armour“.
The track is out today, October 18 via Metropolis Records. Get it here.
Formed in Nashville, TN by guitarists and vocalists Chris and Dexy Valentine, Magic Wands stands out for their shimmering and dreamy sound, which incorporates elements of gothic, post-punk, and shoegaze. Their music is characterized by its heavily-textured guitars, droning synths, and ethereal vocals, which are designed to create an otherworldly atmosphere. Their album “Switch,” released last year, perfectly showcases their unique sound and style.
Commenting on the track, Dexy shares: “The song explores the two forces and looks to find a balance between shielding oneself and embracing vulnerability. We’re writing songs for our new album due out spring of next year. We felt Armour was special and a good follow up to our most recent single ‘Hide’ released last July.”

Lyrics:
Rushing river
Sun is colder
Winter flowers
Days are longer
Armour, armour
Keep it safer
Night is darker
Keys are turning
Disguises falling
[1]
Armour, armour
I’ll take it, I’ll break it
I’ll take it off
Rushing river
Time is longer
Hidden flowers
Days are warm
[Repeat 1]
