South London post punk/new wave/dark pop musician/producer Michael Georgian has announced the release of his debut EP ‘Machine Music‘.
Along with the announcement he has also shared the acid-flavoured lead track “Fantasy” and its accompanying video. The EP will be out on May 30 via by South Coast tastemakers Strong Island Recordings. Pre-order it here.
By his own admission, Michael Georgian “spent the past year locked in the studio“. Having left confinement to play alongside bands such as Nation of Language, Sextile, George Clanton, Sorry, and Nathan Fake, his magpie-like approach to music is reflected in the diverse line-ups he frequents. The product of his toil is his self-produced debut EP.
The EP’s first single, ‘Fantasy’ is a 90s acid-house meets 80s goth-pop track that “critiques the growing disconnect between our collective online fantasies and an increasingly uncertain reality”.
Marking an exciting new phase in Georgian’s musical journey, ‘Fantasy’ boasts a refined and expansive sound. His emboldened focus on production is evident, noting “the track designed to be played loud”, while pushing the boundaries of his continually developing artistic vision.
To celebrate the release of Machine Music, Georgian will perform at The Greyhound in Peckham, as well as at Brighton’s buzzing Alt Escape. See the details below.

Having built a solid foundation over the last year or two, previous single ’Running’ received praise from 6 Music’s Tom Ravenscroft – attention which led to a debut sold-out headline show at London’s Paper Dress Vintage and an unlikely new fan in Mac DeMarco. Early outing ‘Televised’ has also gained traction organically, becoming a favourite at underground warehouse parties worldwide, with spins from DJs like CC DISCO, System Olympia and Tia Cousins, reaching as far as São Paulo, Tokyo, and Lima.
