Neighbourly Announce Self -Titled Debut LP, Share "Does It Matter"

Vancouver Island-based psychedelic pop/rock band Neighbourly have announced the release of their self-titled debut full length and have shared the lead single “Does It Matter“.

The 8-track record will be out on October 13 via Earth Libraries. Pre-order your copy here.

Neighbourly blends the freedom of psychedelia with layers of pop and funk influences. Formerly known as SPEAK EASY, this four-piece band combines captivating arrangements filled with playful and tantric tones. Formed in 2016, the group consist of guitarist/vocalist Oliver Sandberg, percussionist Scott Sparrow, bassist/vocalist Lauren Giorgio and Latham Reader.

Despite having a concept in mind, Neighbourly didn’t want to limit themselves when it came to the process of recording the songs. Some songs evolved collaboratively within the group, while others were written naturally by individual members.

The band engineered the album themselves, and each song was produced by its respective writer. This project serves as a centrepiece showcasing the band’s growth over the past year. Mixing and mastering credits go to Latham Reader, who continues to support other artists in the Vancouver Island scene.

The album, transcends through psych-funk grooves, calypso beach vibes, and dreamy shoegaze, offering the epitome of what the group has to offer.
