ROLLA: Band of the Month (March)

Our featured band this month is Manchester rock n roll band ROLLA.

Drawing on influences both new and old (also taking in the likes of Kasabian, IDLES and DMA’S) ROLLA formed in 2020 by the Gilmore brothers, James and Luke , who added Tom Paddon, Luke McConnell, and Saul Bardsley. They made it their mission to shake-up rock ‘n’ roll conventions and to face the issues of their generation head on. That ambition started with the early self-released tracks ‘Thinking of Tomorrow’ and ‘Sweet Lullaby’ before intensifying with the double A-side single ‘No Violence // Show Me’.

They affirmed their credentials as next wave stars when their 2023 debut EP ‘Nothing Less Than Everything’ shot straight to #1 on the iTunes Album and Alternative Charts. They’ve already shown their arena-readiness after touring with Kasabian following a personal invitation from Serge Pizzorno.

The band will release their eagerly anticipated second EP ‘We Owe You Nothing‘, March 7 via Run On Records.

ROLLA will perform at The New Century Hall on May 3. They have previously proven their future arena-headlining status with huge shows as guests to Kasabian as well as festivals everywhere from the Isle of Wight to Neighbourhood. Their upcoming touring plans also include shows with Pastel, an all-day Indie Showcase in Sheffield, and festival dates at The Godney Gathering and Truck.

ROLLA current line-up is:
  • James Gilmore (vocals)
  • Luke Gilmore (bass)
  • Luke McConnell (guitar)
  • Tom Paddon (guitar)
