Cardiff post punk/indie rock band Silent Forum have released their new single “Here’s the Email“, alongside an accompanying music video.
The track is out now via Libertino Records and is dedicated to anyone who’s ever worked from home during a global pandemic. Grab it here.
During the opening months of the world-famous COVID-19 pandemic, countless emails were sent featuring a recurring selection of short phrases, collected here for your enjoyment.
‘Here’s The Email’ is Silent Forum at its post-punkiest and most destructive, shouting into the abyss about Brexit and the psychological impacts of isolation, presenting the perspective of the disgruntled office worker, now working from home, and juxtaposing corporate life lyrics with jagged guitar chaos.
This is offset by much friendlier, prettier sections embracing the slimmest of silver linings.

The song is the third single of their forthcoming second album due to be released in early 2024. We have previously heard “Treat Yourself” and “Cat Pose“.
Silent Forum split their time between Cardiff, London, Bristol and Barcelona. Their sound is equally unconventional – multifaceted music with confident but subtle streaks of dark energy. It’s textured pop-post-punk that equally rejects three chord song structure and monochrome doom.
