Siracuse Return With New Single/Video "Simple Pleasures"

Cheltenham-based indie/britrock/shoegaze band Siracuse have returned with their excellent new single “Simple Pleasures“, accompanied by a music video.

Newly expanded to a quartet, Siracuse return to the fray after a summer of gigging with this excellent new tune ’Simple Pleasures’, out now via Vibrant Sky Records. It follows on on from last year’s track “All To You”. Grab it here.

Singer/guitarist Ben Zakotti on the tune:

I wanted to write a tune that was using a simple rock ’n’ roll formula. It’s pretty much three chords going round and round. I wrote the demo on the acoustic guitar with just that riff on a loop. I wanted it to be hypnotic and layered. It’s got a bit of a ‘The Last Time’ (Rolling Stones) feel to it with the guitar riff, but it’s the bass and drums that take it in a bit of a Stone Roses/Primal Scream direction.”

Lyrically it’s about shutting down from things that aren’t really worth giving too much thought about and realising what’s important instead – getting a kick from anything that’s real. It’s a party tune with a load of swagger, and that vibe’s been captured in the recording by Dave Draper.”
