Tampa, FL post punk / new wave / alternative trio Sleeping Pills have unveiled their new single “Door of Time“, accompanied by a music video.
The song is the first taste of their forthcoming fifth album ‘Occulting Light‘ (TBA). Buy it here.
Sleeping Pills blends genres of post-punk garagey surf & new-wave into their own hybrid sound. Originally formed in 2015 as a solo project for Phil Taylor, consisting of surfy riffs, mono-tonal vocals over a repetitive drum machine, would soon morph as Carson Cox of Wmerchandise took an interest in the project & decided to produce/release a debut LP. Shortly after the recording of the first LP, Zack Strickland & Nate Irizarry joined the fold, turning Sleeping Pills into a fully fledged live operation.
Once the trio was formed they immediately started touring regionally, performing with great artists such as Modern English, Entertainment & The Soft Moon. After the release of their third LP the trio continued to perform with many great artists such as She Past Away, Wingtips, Boy Harsher & Twin-Tribes as well as headlining a full USA/Canadian tour.
The band released their forth album ‘A Bend in Time‘ in 2022 via Lurk Records.
