Atlanta-based post punk/dance/psych/new wave artist Stranded (aka David Mansfield) has shared his new single “Burnt Offerings“, alongside an accompanying video.
Produced and mixed by Vacant Lots’ Jared Artaud, the track is a corroded, bleary web of synths and processed guitars which sound romantic, haunting and grandiose. A space to get lost in, to find our own other worlds in.
UPDATE 6/19/2023: “Burnt Offerings” is our new Single of the Week!
“‘Burnt Offerings’ was inspired by the grooves of Sandinista-era Clash, but taken to a more atmospheric place,” Mansfield shares of the single marked by cavernous, deeply psychedelic guitar reverb akin to the noisy din of A Place to Bury Strangers. “If ‘goth disco’ were a genre, that’s what Stranded is going for.”
It is the first single from his forthcoming album ‘Velvet Trace,’ set for release during Fall via Grey Market Records. Grab it here.
