New York City-based art punk band Tea Eater, fronted by Tarra Thiessen of Gustaf and Sharkmuffin, have unleashed the video for “Jack Nicholson“.
The track features on their latest album ‘Obsession‘, released in October last year via A Diamond Heart Productions/Amethyst Trax (Symphonic Distribution) and La Fam Recordings. Get it here if you haven’t already.
Speaking about the song and video, Tarra shares :
“Jack Nicholson is inspired by a film (like the last vid ‘Has Been’). The lyrics for this one were inspired by ‘As Good As it Gets,’ which was the first movie I remember watching with my bandmates in Gustaf when Covid lockdown began.”
“For this video, I attempted to deep fake Jack Nicholson’s face onto my face while I eat a lot of random condiments on waffles in my wedding dress. The result didn’t end up looking exactly like Jack, but it is unsettling.”

“Obsession” better captures the joys of release from captivity. The celebration of creativity. The reclamation of self. The freedom of expression. The return to irreverence in a new it’s-the-end-of-the-world-again society. – Mary Grace Garis.
