The Empty Threats Announce Debut LP 'Monster Truck Mondays'

Aussie post punk/indie rock/alt band The Empty Threats have announced the release of their debut full-length album ‘Monster Truck Mondays‘ and have shared their new single “Evil Eye“.

The 10-track record will be out on July 28 via P.A.K. Records. Pre-order your copy here.

Evil Eye sees them return to a sound from their self-titled EP. It is a slower melodic burn with a stadium sized chorus that delivers a reckoning with one’s own mortality and the first time realisation of that.

Commenting on the track, the band stated:

We debuted this song live in 2022 for WOMADelaide , the lyrics were finalised the week of our set with the thought of playing on the Moreton Bay Stage in mind. Evil Eye is about the first realisation of the thought of your own mortality, and to truly commit to being present in moments as there is no practice run, this is it.

Blending modern post-punk with ‘80s Australiana, and renowned for their energetic live performances, The Empty Threats have shared stages with Methel Ethyl, Mildlife, Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers, Jimmy Barnes and ICEHOUSE, plus scored slots at festivals including Mountain Goat Valley Crawl and WOMADelaide.
