The Foreign Resort Drop New Single/Video "Southern Skies"

Danish post punk / new wave / shoegaze band The Foreign Resort have dropped their new single “Southern Skies“.

The song is out now and serves as the second taste of their forthcoming new album on Artoffact Records, mixed and mastered by Francesco Giuliano, known from his drumming and production with Italian legends HAPAX. Get it here.

”Southern Skies” is a more rock-oriented track, with some influences from the ever-present shoegaze. As a result, there are less synths and programming, and a straight to the point song.

The lyrics are once again from frontman Mikkel Borbjerg Jakobsen’s personal universe, about what The Foreign Resort was for a long time: Escape from reality. Constant touring rather than dealing with the problems at hand. “Southern Skies” are thus any skies away from home.

The single-cover serves as an example: A photo taken out the windscreen entering Utah from Colorado during one of TFR’s numerous US tours. It is important to stress that The Foreign Resort have always loved touring and still do. However, now it is not escaping, but rather the urge to get out and play their music live and meet their audiences.
