Zurich-based post punk/coldwave/synthwave band Veil of Light have revealed their excellent new single “Hypersleep“, alongside an accompanying music video.
The song is taken from their upcoming sixth studio album ‘Sundancing‘, which will be out on February 24 via Avant! Records. Pre-order your copy here.
On Hypersleep the duo models their typical blasé synthpop à la New Order on some curvy groove reminiscent of US freestyle stars Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam and it’s just the ultimate 80’s pop-inspired tune.
The video displays a perfect balance of misty melancholy and the need for catharsis we all share. Like dancing in the middle of nowhere.

Veil of Light “Hypersleep” Lyrics:
So far apart
My delicate heart
Reaching out for you
Broken in two
Finger tips unite
The both of us tonight
Even in my dreams
Shining bright
How many years
How many days
I’ve spent in hypersleep
How many tears
How many dreams
Forgotten in between
See in between
Even underneath
What can’t be seen
To my relief
So far apart
My delicate heart
Paint my dream
soft golden gleam
How many years
How many days
I’ve spent in hypersleep
How many tears
How many dreams
Forgotten in between
