Aussie new-wave/80s alt-pop/synth artist Web Rumors (aka Em Burrows) has shared her new single “Ego Technician“, and its accompanying music video.
The song features on her upcoming EP ‘Disciple 2’, produced and mixed by Em Burrows, out on May 15. Pre-order it here.
On the EP, Web Rumors says: “Following on from Disciple, this EP continues my experimentation/learning around minimalist production in the context of dancier tracks with some 80s and 90s influence. I’ve tried to stick with a reasonably minimal production palette, mainly for consistency across the 2 EPs but also because I enjoy the challenge of trying to draw different ideas out of limited sounds!”
Of the track she shares: “‘Ego Technician’ speaks to the balance of mediating the instinctual self and the critical self. The video is mostly cut from Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.”
