Chicago-based shoegaze/indie rock/alt band Airiel have returned with their new single “Hide & Seek“.
The song, recorded and produced by Adam Stilson and Andrew Marrah, is out now via Feeltrip Records. Grab it here.
“Hide & Seek” explores the fleeting nature of young love, chasing moments of light and joy before they slip away. Frontman Jeremy Wrenn’s hazy, ethereal vocals soar above the swirling instrumentation, evoking a sense of longing, hope, and nostalgia. The band’s signature mix of lush textures takes on new life here, as the song builds to an unexpected crescendo — a powerful taiko drum rhythm layered with the subtle elegance of a grand piano. This cinematic finale underscores the epic studio production that Airiel has crafted.

Lyrics:
Baby, we’re fading fast, but don’t worry
We’re between sleeping and daydreams
Dream of me
Baby, the sunlight’s moving fast, but don’t worry
We’re never out of time so just know you’re not alone
You’re not alone
Baby, my skin’s so cold that it scares me
The sunlight’s gone, now soldier on without me
Don’t worry
Baby, we’re fading fast, but don’t worry
We’re never out of time so just know you’re not alone
You’re not alone
