Melbourne garage punk/indie rock/post punk/alt five-piece Delivery have revealed their new single, “Only A Fool”.
The track features on their just announced new album, Force Majeure, set to arrive on January 17 via Heavenly Recordings. Pre-order your copy here.
A vital and concise record which thrills with its direct simplicity and excitement, recalling the likes of Parquet Courts or early Modern Lovers, Force Majeure (rarely does a title so aptly describe the contents) is an urgent, joyous noise, the prefect calling card from your new favorite honest rock’n’roll band.
On “Only A Fool”, Delivery settle into a steady, heavy groove, adding an untouchable gonzo riff and a wonderfully insouciant vocal to deliver a perfect slice of new wave rock’n’roll.
Talking about the track, the band said:
“‘Only A Fool’ might just be the most uninhibited moment in capturing this album’s all-in dynamic at full steam. Lisa brought in the guitar chords, vocal line and lyrics, and then gave everyone free rein to do their thing which means everyone’s individual flare gets a moment across the track. Also might explain why this song features Delivery’s only ever jam-out ending.”
