Miami post punk / dark wave / gothic rock band Astari Nite have released their new single “Necessity Meal”.
The track is out today (February 9) via Negative Gain, and is a new taste of their forthcoming album. It follows last year’s single “Bowie In Daydreams”.
Astari Nite crosses an obscure mix between gothic rock and post-punk, exploring themes of death, love and the occult. Having performed alongside acts such as Peter Murphy, The Damned, Psychedelic Furs, She Wants Revenge, Cold Cave, Vowws, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Modern English, She Past Away and Bestial Mouths they have established themselves as contemporaries of the post-punk / gothic rock scene.

Astari Nite “Necessity Meal” Lyrics:
Met you at a club, scored designer drugs
I was careless and still grieving
Joked a bit outside, charmed on lullabies
In fact, I’m always pleasing
Any which way I try to stand, guess it’s okay, I understand
Thank you, thank you for the guilt
Sailed the seven seas, Spoke in Japanese
I was scared of girls and Jesus
Poured some tea for two, in a dream, I was you
In fact, I’m always sneezing
Any which way I try to stand, guess it’s okay, I understand
Thank you, thank you for the guilt
Blew me away
Save me from the stars, you’ve gone so far, I feel so messy
She locked me in a jar, you’ve gone so far, I feel so messy
Temptation overload, you’ve gone so far
Fixation overload, you’ve gone so far, I feel so messy
